Sense energy monitoring app

Software Updates: February

We’ve been working hard for months on a hefty software update. Here are some of the features that will be in the updated Sense app, from faster app speeds to a totally revamped power meter.

We’ve been working hard for months on a hefty software update, and we’re excited to share it with you. Here are some of the features that will be in the updated Sense app (coming soon!):

New Power Meter: (Inspired by Google Maps)

Our current power meter shows you the real-time power usage in your house. The new power meter does that, with some new bonus features.

With the new and improved power meter, you’ll be able to go back in time to see your house’s energy usage history, as well as zoom in and out to see different ranges of time. (Similar to how you use Google Maps.) This is useful not just because it looks cool, but because being able to check out when your energy usage spikes or drops will help you figure out the identity of your unnamed devices. It’s also a great way to figure out if any recent energy saving efforts have been successful, or if your appliances are as energy efficient as you think they are.

You will also be able to filter by device, so you can monitor appliance-level energy usage.

Customized Device Alerts: find out what’s happening at home

You’ll be able to enable notifications for any device shown in your Sense app. Need to know when your garage door opens but couldn’t care less about when the microwave turns on? You’ll be able to adjust your settings accordingly.

Faster App Speeds

Who doesn’t like a little more proverbial horsepower in their apps?

Make sure you have auto updates installed! These new features will be rolling out in the next couple of weeks, and auto-updates mean they can get to you ASAP.

We also owe you guys a big thanks: Your feedback helps us identify new features, prioritize our product roadmap, and alert us of issues with our device detection algorithms. So keep it coming, either via the feedback icon in your app, or by sending your thoughts to feedback@sense.com.
